Dr Uno Silberg, Vice president of the EA group, is to participate in a CoR-Council of Europe joint delegation to observe local elections in Georgia on 30 May.
3.5 million Georgian citizens are called upon to elect 63 local self-government bodies, the Mayor of Tbilisi and its City Council. Despite the numerous scourges the country faces (38% of population live below poverty line), margin of error in current elections, is said to be minimum in comparison to previous elections.
